Introduce “Da Lv” (Big Pull)

 Tai Chi push hand techniques

  There are not much people know about Tai Chi push hand 5 steps and 8 doors knowledge. 5 steps include: forward step, backward step, left step , right step and center stop. 8 doors include: east, south, west, north 4 upright directions, and s-east, s-west, n-west and n-east 4 corners directions. In 8 doors there are the 4 upright push hand techniques include: Peng(stick hand and baffler attack), Lu(Pull backward), Ji (squeeze arm forward ), An(Press forward or down). And the 4 corner techniques include: Cai( left or right side press down wrest and pull back), Lei( left or right side block or punch), Zhou( left or right elbow attack), Kao( left or right shoulder against).

   

     The 4 corners technique is assistant 4 uprights direction techniques. The Tai Chi push hand techniques is basic on a circle direction, no matter in or out all basic on a circle push hand techniques, the Tai Chi push hand techniques is also basic on square direction( 4 upright directions), no matter forward or backward, left side or right side.  Circle for in or out, Square for front or back.

 

        Circle basic on Square and Square basic on Circle each other. Square is for open attack, circle is for close defense. If you can understand how use the basic push hand techniques, that will be very good success. But beginning students no relax whole body’s muscle, and body weight is not in the center of both legs, easily on one side of each leg and tension on one side of body, leg and arm, standing unsteady. For correct this problem, the 4 corner direction push hand techniques is useful. If  no move feet push hand techniques practice good,  then go on move feet push hand techniques practice, later will practice Da Lu( Big Pull), and guided by high level Tai Chi Master, good in hand and leg moving techniques and whole body flexible moving techniques.    There are many push hand techniques inside Da Lu, not only 5 step and 8 doors also Shan(flap hand) , Jue(break arm) and mixed techniques.

 

Introduce Certainly formula of  Da Lu Tai Chi push hand techniques

                                                     

Tai Chi player standing face each other no changing direction. If one attack then the other will defense till finish the movement can change position. For example if white player go up right step punch right fist to attack, the  black one will use right hand “Peng” and stick follow on the attack right wrest baffler the push and don’t let it free to go(picture1). The black one will change to Lu(pull) the white one’s right hand with right hand and left forearm(picture2), the white one will go on step into the black one middle of both legs , use left hand push right elbow and use right shoulder against black chest area(picture3). Just the second, the black one will use the left hand push block the white one’s right arm and use right hand attack white’s face(picture 3), then the white will step back use right hand block and stick on black’s right wrest (peng) and with left forearm to Lu(pull) the black right hand go back to picture 2(opposite as picture 2).

 

 

Peng( stick hand and baffler):  if white one player up right step punch right fist to attack, the black one will use right hand “Peng” and stick follow on the attack right wrest baffler the punch and don’t let it free to go(picture1).

 

Lu(pull back): The black one will change to Lu(pull) the white one’s right hand with right hand and left forearm(picture2).

 

Kao(Shoulder against) & Shan( block or flap hand): the white one will go on step into the black one middle of both legs , use left hand push right elbow and use right shoulder against black heart area(3). Just the second, the black one will use the left hand push to block the white one’s right upper arm and use right hand attack white’s face(picture3).

then the white will step back use right hand block and stick on black’s right wrest (peng) like picture 1 (opposite), and with left forearm to Lu(pull) the black right hand like picture 2(opposite).

 

 

 

 

 

Introduce Uncertainly formula of “Da Lu”

The uncertainly formula of Da Lu push hand techniques is about flexible hands move with attack frontward 3 steps and defense with backward 2 steps.

 

 

An (press forward): after white avoid black’ shoulder attack and try to press black arm for block or defense black’s attack, like picture 4.

 

Ji(squeeze): if black want Lu(pull) white left arm, then the white change to use right hand to squeeze left arm to push black body away, like picture5

.

 

Cai(press down): black hold wrest press down and make white unsteady prepare to Lu (pull), like picture 6.

 

Lie(sideway block or punch): after black Cai or Lu the white, then black can use right fist from side to punch white face to make him fall down, like picture 7.

 

 

Zhou(elbow attack): when black want Lu (pull) white right arm, the white can bent right elbow to use elbow attack black chest, like picture 8.

Kao(shoulder against): when white want pull black left arm, the black can change to use left shoulder to against white body to make him fall down, like picture 9.

Jue(break the arm): when white want pull black left arm, white also can change to break black left elbow force him to fall down, like picture 10.
